Field Trip to the Powerhouse at Stave Falls

On March 8th, 85 LINC students from Abbotsford and their teachers hopped on 2 buses and made their way to Mission to visit the 100 year old Powerhouse at Stave Falls. Students were split into two groups to enjoy a guided tour of the Powerhouse. For all of the students, this was the first time to visit this National Historic site.  Students learned how electricity is made and all about B.C.'s renewable & non-renewable resources. Students and staff enjoyed the historical displays, electricity demonstrations and all of the interactive exhibits.  The weather was beautiful that day, so students and staff walked to Hayward Lake to enjoy a picnic before heading back to Abbotsford. It was a fun and educational day for everyone.

It was very exciting and fun to see how everything worked and the different ways to make electricity. It is a very nice and good place to learn something new with friends and family.
