Canadian Language Benchmarks

Placement Test (CLBPT)

The CLBPT is a low-stakes assessment tool developed to place adult learners into LINC ESL programs. It can be used for placement into language training programs or workplace training programs with a language component. It is also accepted for Health Care Assistant/Aide Programs. Clients should confirm with their program, employer or school that the CLBPT is acceptable as entry to their program.

The Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT) is NOT accepted by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as proof of language ability. For more information, CLICK HERE.

Test Details

The CLBPT assesses four areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The test takes around 90 minutes to complete.

The assessment costs $100. Fees must be paid before completing the test.

Clients will be given their test results directly after the assessment.

We offer weekly assessment appointments.

Clients interested in English classes: Do not book a CLBPT assessment through this program.
