LINC Teacher Named Hero in Education
LINC teacher gives new Canadians ‘wings’ through English studies
Newcomers from Brazil, China, Morocco, Zimbabwe, South Korea and Vietnam have all found a home in Sara Marazzi’s classroom. The students enrolled in Archway Community Service’s LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) program to fine-tune their English skills, but under Marazzi’s tutelage, they have found community.
Ten students reached out to nominate her as an Abbotsford News Hero in Education.
“I feel very special to be nominated,” Marazzi said. “I feel quite a bit of responsibility teaching them, and it’s an enormous privilege.
“It’s a hard journey. It’s not an easy journey. I am so aware of how difficult it is.”
